Department of the Air Force WHtR Assessment (DAFMAN 36-2905)
The Air Force and Space Force transitioned to Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) as a standalone physical health and readiness assessment separated from the Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA).
Airmen and Guardians are assessed annually during their birth month. A WHtR result strictly below 0.550 satisfies the low-to-moderate risk health standard.
